FinSnap – QB Premium Dashboard • Chrome Extension
Last updated: February 18, 2026
Summary: FinSnap does not sell your data. We only collect what’s needed to show your QuickBooks dashboard. Your financial data stays between you, QuickBooks, and our secure backend server.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how FinSnap – QB Premium Dashboard (“FinSnap,” “we,” “our,” or “the extension”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Chrome extension. FinSnap is developed by the FinSnap Team and distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
By installing and using FinSnap, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- QuickBooks Authorization: When you connect your QuickBooks Online account, you authorize FinSnap to access your financial data through Intuit’s official OAuth 2.0 flow. We receive an access token — we never see or store your QuickBooks username or password.
- Email Addresses: If you configure the MIS (Management Information System) daily report feature, you provide recipient email addresses. These are stored on our backend server solely for report delivery.
- Phone Number: If you request a support callback, you provide a phone number. This is transmitted to our backend solely to facilitate the callback and is not stored long-term.
- Support PIN: You may set a 6-digit PIN used to verify your identity when contacting support.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- QuickBooks Company ID: Your company’s unique identifier in QuickBooks Online, used to route API requests.
- Financial Data (Transient): When you sync your dashboard, the extension fetches invoices, payments, bills, expenses, estimates, account balances, recurring transactions, and profit & loss data from QuickBooks via our backend API. This data is displayed in the extension popup and held in memory only for the duration of the session. It is not stored permanently on our servers.
- Extension Preferences: Settings like auto-refresh toggle, date filter selection, MIS report configuration, and widget collapse states are stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage API.
- Diagnostic Data: If you run the Support Diagnostics feature, console log entries from the QuickBooks Online page are captured temporarily and submitted to our backend for troubleshooting analysis. This data contains technical error messages only — not financial data.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your QuickBooks username or password
- Credit card or bank account numbers
- Social Security numbers or tax identification numbers
- Browsing history outside of QuickBooks pages
- Data from any websites other than QuickBooks Online domains
- Keystroke data or form input on any page
3. How We Use Your Information
- Dashboard Display: Financial data is fetched and displayed in the extension popup to provide you with an at-a-glance view of your business finances.
- AI Insights: Your financial data is analyzed locally within the extension (client-side) to generate business insights. No financial data is sent to AI services.
- MIS Reports: If configured, daily summary reports are generated from your QuickBooks data and emailed to your specified recipients.
- Books Health: Bookkeeping health scores are calculated based on your QuickBooks data to provide actionable recommendations.
- Support: Diagnostic data is used solely to troubleshoot technical issues with the extension.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Extension preferences and session data are stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage API. This data never leaves your device unless explicitly synced.
- Backend Server: Our backend API server (hosted on Vercel) processes API requests, manages OAuth tokens, and handles MIS report delivery. The server communicates exclusively over HTTPS (256-bit SSL/TLS encryption).
- Real-time Updates: Settings synchronization uses Supabase with encrypted WebSocket connections.
- OAuth Tokens: QuickBooks access tokens are stored securely on our backend server and are used solely to make authorized API calls to Intuit’s services on your behalf.
Encryption: All data transmitted between the extension, our backend server, and QuickBooks Online is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
5. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or share your personal or financial data with any third parties, except:
- Intuit/QuickBooks: We communicate with Intuit’s APIs to fetch your financial data. This is governed by Intuit’s own privacy policy and developer terms.
- Infrastructure Providers: Our backend runs on Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (real-time database). These providers process data as part of their hosting services but do not have independent access to your financial data.
- Currency Rates: The currency converter feature fetches exchange rates from the Frankfurter API (a public, free API). No personal or financial data is sent to this service.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Disconnect: You can disconnect your QuickBooks company from FinSnap at any time through the extension’s Settings. This revokes the extension’s access to your QuickBooks data.
- Uninstall: Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all locally stored data. To request deletion of backend data (OAuth tokens, MIS settings), contact us at the email below.
- Data Access: You may request a copy of any data we store about you by contacting us.
- Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your data from our backend servers by contacting us.
7. Children’s Privacy
FinSnap is a business productivity tool and is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Intuit Trademark Notice
QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Intuit, and the Intuit logo are registered trademarks of Intuit Inc., registered in the United States and other countries. FinSnap is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit Inc. FinSnap accesses QuickBooks data solely through Intuit’s officially published APIs in compliance with Intuit’s developer terms of service.
